East & Co. (“East & Co.,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information you share with us. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through our website (“Site”), how we use and share it, and the choices you have regarding your information.
By using the Site, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site. We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time; changes take effect when posted, and your continued use of the Site constitutes acceptance.
2. Information We Collect
Information You Provide Directly
We collect information you voluntarily provide when you interact with the Site, including:
Newsletter and Email Signups. Your name and email address when you subscribe to our mailing list through Klaviyo.
Reservation Requests. Your name, email address, phone number, party size, date, time, and any special requests when you make a reservation through OpenTable.
Event Inquiries. Your name, email address, phone number, event type, estimated guest count, preferred dates, and any additional details you include in an inquiry form.
Online Orders and Purchases. Your name, email address, phone number, billing address, shipping address (if applicable), and payment information when you place an order through GoTab. Payment card details are processed directly by GoTab and are not stored on our servers.
Contact Form Submissions. Your name, email address, and any information you include in a message sent through our contact form.
Information Collected Automatically
When you visit the Site, certain information is collected automatically through cookies and similar technologies:
Usage Data. Pages visited, time spent on pages, links clicked, referring URLs, and general browsing behavior.
Device and Browser Information. IP address, browser type, operating system, device type, screen resolution, and language preferences.
Location Data. Approximate geographic location based on your IP address. We do not collect precise GPS location data through the Site.
3. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
The Site uses cookies and similar tracking technologies to improve your experience, analyze site traffic, and support our marketing efforts. The key technologies we use include:
Google Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors interact with the Site — which pages are visited, how long visitors stay, and how they arrived. Meta (Facebook) Pixel. We use the Meta Pixel to measure the effectiveness of our advertising on Facebook and Instagram, and to deliver more relevant ads to people who have visited the Site. The Meta Pixel collects data about your browsing activity on the Site, which is shared with Meta Platforms, Inc. You can manage your ad preferences through your Facebook settings or opt out through the Digital Advertising Alliance (https://optout.aboutads.info).
Essential Cookies. Some cookies are necessary for the Site to function properly, such as those used to process orders through GoTab or manage your session.
Most web browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. Disabling cookies may affect the functionality of certain features on the Site.
4. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
Fulfill orders, process payments, and deliver purchased products or gift cards. Confirm and manage restaurant reservations made through OpenTable. Respond to event inquiries and coordinate event bookings. Send marketing and promotional emails through Klaviyo, including news, events, and offers from East & Co. Analyze Site traffic and usage patterns to improve the Site’s content, layout, and performance. Measure the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns. Protect against fraud, unauthorized transactions, and other security threats. Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms & Conditions.
5. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in the following circumstances:
Service Providers. We share information with third-party service providers who perform services on our behalf, including:
Klaviyo (email marketing and communications), GoTab (payment processing and online ordering), OpenTable (reservation management), Google (website analytics), and Meta Platforms, Inc. (advertising measurement).
These providers are contractually obligated to use your information only to perform services for us and in accordance with applicable privacy laws.
Legal Requirements. We may disclose your information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or when we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.
Business Transfers. If East & Co. is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will provide notice if your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
With Your Consent. We may share your information in other circumstances with your prior consent.
6. Your Choices and Rights
Email Communications. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time by clicking the “unsubscribe” link at the bottom of any email from us, or by contacting us directly. Opting out of marketing emails will not affect transactional messages related to orders, reservations, or event bookings.
Cookies. You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings. See Section 3 for details on opting out of Google Analytics and Meta Pixel tracking.
Access, Correction, and Deletion. You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by contacting us using the details in Section 10. We will respond to your request within a reasonable timeframe and in accordance with applicable law.
Do Not Track. Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” signal. The Site does not currently respond to Do Not Track signals, as there is no industry-standard protocol for this feature.
Colorado Privacy Act (CPA) Rights
If you are a Colorado resident, you have additional rights under the Colorado Privacy Act, including the right to access your personal data, correct inaccuracies, delete your personal data, opt out of the sale of personal data (we do not sell personal data), and opt out of targeted advertising. To exercise these rights, contact us using the information in Section 10. We will verify your identity before processing your request. If we deny your request, you have the right to appeal by contacting us and referencing your original request.
7. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer retention period is required by law. For example, order and transaction records are retained for accounting and tax compliance purposes. Email subscriber information is retained until you unsubscribe. Reservation data is retained according to OpenTable’s data practices. Event inquiry information is retained for as long as needed to respond to and fulfill your request.
When your information is no longer needed, we will securely delete or anonymize it.
8. Data Security
We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. Payment information is processed by GoTab using industry-standard encryption and is not stored on our servers.
However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Children’s Privacy
The Site is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete it promptly. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us using the details in Section 10.
